She was born August 10, 1923 in Ogden, Utah to Arias G. and Mabel Harris Belnap. She graduated from Ogden High School and then worked for several years as a secretary at the Ogden Iron Works. She married Edwin (Ted) Evans on October 15, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He is her most loyal and loving companion and caregiver. They are the parents of eight children. During their married life Mildred lived in Salt Lake City, Utah; Denver, Colorado; Cody, Wyoming; and Atlanta, Georgia. Boise, Idaho has been their home for the past 26 years. Mildred is a gracious, refined lady with a great sense of humor. She deeply loved her family and was an excellent homemaker. She loved music, reading good books, entertaining, travel, good chocolate, and could play a mean game of Scrabble.
She was a fine musician on both the violin and piano and had a beautiful singing voice. She enjoyed sharing her talents in these areas and directed church choirs for many years. She was always active in church, PTO, and community affairs. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and served as Camp Captain and County President. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in both ward and stake positions, including ward and stake Relief Society president, Primary president, and MIA president. She was an excellent teacher. She and her husband her husband served an LDS mission in the Idaho, Boise Mission 1993-1994. She is most remembered for her strong testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and her great love for Him and His Gospel. We love you, Mom, and are so glad you are well again!
